How to Start Tracking Barrel Racing Runs With an App

Step-by-step: set up a horse profile, log your first barrel run, and build a habit that survives show weekends.

Updated 2026-08-05

Create a horse profile, pick Barrel Racing, enter your time after the run, and save. Do that for three practices and you’ll already have a cleaner season history than most paper notebooks.

Setup in under five minutes

Install Arena Time, make an account, add your horse’s name and notes (bit, preferred pattern side — whatever you’ll forget later). Keep the first profile simple.

Your first logged run

After the alley, open the app while the time is still on your brain. Choose Barrel Racing, enter the time, mark penalties if needed, save. Don’t wait until you’re home — that’s how runs disappear.

Build a weekly rhythm

Log practice nights and jackpots the same way. On Sunday, skim the last seven days for PBs and slow outliers. That ten-minute review beats a once-a-month spreadsheet panic.
